Shiatsu MassageShiatsu is a Traditional Japanese bodywork system traditionally received at floor level on a futon. Shiatsu means finger pressure in Japanese but a wide range of techniques and manipulations are used to reorganise the body’s physical structure and internal energies.

The essential nature of the treatment is relaxing, nurturing, balancing and reconnects you in way that can be quite spiritual. You can experience profound shifts in consciousness as the points and channels are treated on the body. You remain fully clothed during the session as energy is easier to access without skin to skin contact.

Almost any illness or condition can be positively affected by shiatsu. Shiatsu is particularly effecting for muscular-skeletal problems and rehabilitation from injuries and can be used to address chronic conditions where western medicine has no answers. Other common reasons people come for treatment are:

  • Back pain
  • Stress and tension
  • Headaches/migraines
  • Respiratory problems – asthma and bronchitis
  • Digestive disorders
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Menstrual Problems
  • Fatigue and weakness
  • Rheumatic and arthritic complains
  • Circulatory problems
  • Sciatica
  • Insomnia
